Biography
Brandon Maxwell is an Admission Officer in the University of Rhode Island Office of Admission. He began his journey at URI as a student in 2012, graduating in 2016 before returning to campus a year later as an admission counselor, where he has served ever since. As both a former student and current staff member, Brandon is passionate about helping students navigate the college application process and making it feel less intimidating. His work is grounded in the belief that higher education should be accessible to all and that colleges should be places where every student feels welcomed, supported, and able to thrive. Brandon is especially committed to helping students build confidence as they transition into college life, drawing on his own experience at URI to support students in discovering their goals, interests, and sense of belonging. He encourages students to use their college years as an opportunity for personal growth, self-reflection, and exploration. His message to students is simple: you belong here just as much as anybody else. Take this time to pursue your interests, reflect on your goals, find your niche, and learn more about yourself.
