Biography

Carmen Rogers is the Assistant Dean in the College of Business at the University of Rhode Island. She is a former student-athlete who attended a four-year university while working part-time to help support herself and her family during a time before Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities existed. Her early experiences shaped her understanding of resilience, balance, and the challenges students often face in higher education. After graduation, Carmen began her career in athletics before transitioning into academic support roles, where she now serves as Assistant Dean. Her journey reflects a deep commitment to student success and a passion for helping students navigate college life. As a mentor, she emphasizes that students are not alone in feeling overwhelmed by college and encourages them to persevere through challenges. She reminds students that the discomfort of hard work and studying is temporary, while the outcomes – pride, success, and accomplishment – last a lifetime.
