Biography

Ed Givens is the Assistant Director of Talent Development at the University of Rhode Island and a proud first-generation college graduate. A former student-athlete, Ed has been part of the URI community for nearly four decades, building a career shaped by persistence, meaningful relationships, and a commitment to growth. Through strong networking and a dedication to personal development, he has created opportunities for himself both on campus and beyond, including statewide and international experiences. As a mentor, Ed is passionate about supporting first-generation students, encouraging them to stay persistent, set clear goals, and embrace their own potential for success.
