Ellen Reynolds, Ed.D.

Biography

Ellen Reynolds is the Vice President, Division of Student Affairs. She is a member of the Student Affairs leadership team at the University of Rhode Island overseeing Health Services, Campus Recreation and Counseling Services. She is responsible for the strategic vision of these departments and budgets totaling $11M with approximately 75 full-time staff members. Prior to this position, she served as the Associate Director, URI Health Services (2003-2011). Ellen started her career at South County Hospital, a 100-bed, community hospital in southern Rhode Island which provides comprehensive healthcare primarily to the residents and visitors of Washington County.

She holds a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership, Higher Education from Johnson & Wales University, a Master of Health Care Administration from Salve Regina University; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education and Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Rhode Island; and is currently completing her dissertation to complete a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Johnson & Wales University, expected completion date, August 2022.

Reynolds is the past chair of the Administration section for the American College Health Association (ACHA) and was inducted as an ACHA Fellow in 2017. She has also served in many leadership roles for the New England College Health Association (NECHA), including President. She currently serves as a board member of the Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County.

She lives in West Kingston, RI. She enjoys golfing, traveling, and is an avid URI Athletics supporter and enjoys spending her time attending local and national competitions cheering on the Rhody Rams.
