Biography
Kate Durham is a Lecturer in the Psychology department at the University of Rhode Island. She began her academic journey at a four-year liberal arts college in Boston, where she earned her degree in Developmental Psychology. She later pursued her Master of Education in Higher Education Administration while teaching elementary school in New Orleans, balancing her passion for education across both classroom and higher education settings. Kate continued her academic path by completing her Doctorate in Educational Psychology, a process that took six years while working full time in a variety of education-related roles. Her journey reflects persistence, dedication, and a deep commitment to both learning and student development. As a mentor, Kate is passionate about helping students understand and utilize campus resources while also serving as a supportive and trusted person when challenges arise. She encourages students to embrace failure as part of growth, reminding them that perseverance and resilience are essential skills that will benefit them far beyond college.
