Biography

Linda Moffat is the Assistant Dean and Director of Exploratory Studies within the Fannon Institute for Student Success at the University of Rhode Island. She has extensive experience in academic advising, including work at a two-year residential private college focused on transfer and program advising, as well as a four-year private business school where she served in career advising and leadership roles. Much of her career has been dedicated to supporting students at URI through academic advising and exploratory pathways. Her professional focus is centered on helping students identify and connect with the people and resources they need to succeed, recognizing the importance of a strong campus support network in a large university community. As a mentor, Linda emphasizes that seeking guidance is a strength, not a weakness, and reminds students that no one succeeds alone. She encourages students to build relationships with mentors and advisors, navigate college systems with confidence, and explore majors and career paths with support and intention.
