Shaun Kavanagh, M.B.A.

Biography

Shaun is the Senior Associate Director for IT Support Services in the Division of Student Affairs. He first came to the University as an undergraduate in the Spring of 1997. After completing his BA in Economics, he continued on to receive his master’s degree in business administration, also from URI.

Throughout his tenure at the University, Shaun has held various IT roles. From his early days producing ID cards and managing meal plans to overseeing IT operations for all of Student Affairs, Shaun has served the University proudly since 2003.

In 2018 he was the recipient of Cbord’s “Above and Beyond” award. He holds a Diversity and Inclusion Diploma from the NSCAA LGBT Training Series as well as a Diversity Awareness Training Certificate from the North American Learning Institute. From the Tap Series he also holds certificates as an Allergen Plan Specialist as well as Food Safety Handler training. Since 2012 he has presented several times at a variety of national conferences on everything from biometrics to budgets.

Outside of work, Shaun is a devoted father to three lovely daughters.
