Biography

Silvana Melo is an Academic Advisor in Health Sciences and FISS at the University of Rhode Island. She began her college journey at UMass Amherst and later earned her master’s degree in Education from Boston University’s Wheelock College of Education. Before joining URI, Silvana worked in public schools and with TRiO programs, building a strong foundation in supporting student success and access to education. As an advisor, she is passionate about helping students grow academically and personally. She encourages students to take full advantage of the many people and resources available on campus, reminding them that support is always within reach. Her mentoring focuses on personal growth and goal setting, helping students navigate their path with confidence and intention.
