Sydney Dubois (she/her)

Biography

Sydney Dubois’ approach to recovery is rooted in compassion, connection, and the belief that healing is never linear. She views recovery as a personalized spectrum, honoring each individual’s unique experiences, needs, and pace.

As a Peer Recovery Specialist, she serves as a steady, empathetic ally to those navigating substance use challenges, especially individuals impacted by addiction within their families and friends. Through her own lived experiences with trauma, social disconnection, and finding a healthy balance with substances, Sydney brings authenticity and deep understanding to her work. She believes that meaningful connection, simply hearing “I see you, I’ve been there”, can be transformative in a wellness journey. Sydney approaches recovery holistically, integrating individualized mindfulness practices such as nature walks, breathwork, light stretching, and positive self-talk into everyday life.

She is an undergraduate junior at the University of Rhode Island and an aspiring Ph.D. student in Clinical Psychology, actively engaged in the psychology community. Her passion for education, supportive environments, and destigmatization of substance use and recovery drives her commitment to fostering healing through empathy, knowledge, and community.
