Mental Health Task Force Mission Statement
The mission of the URI Student Affairs Mental Health Task Force is to provide structure and support through strategic planning initiatives which aims to improve students’ mental health and wellbeing. This interdisciplinary team, which is comprised of students, faculty and staff, will continue to research, plan and implement action centered initiatives that remove barriers and support students’ development and growth. These initiatives will be assessed annually and will be reported to the Vice President of Student Affairs and the President of the University.
Mental Health Task Force Description
The Mental Health Task Force is a composed of students, faculty and staff from across the University whose charge is to identify, implement and evaluate mental health initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of URI students. There are seven subcommittees within the task force based on the JED Campus Foundation work previously completed at URI. Each subcommittee is charged with identifying measurable goals and objectives for the year. Progress reports will be completed and disseminated twice a year and shared with the President, the URI community and on this website.
