Date: October 3, 2013

Time Started: 6:30

Time ended: 7:10

Here: Underwood, Pavlik, Rode, MacAteer, Cody, Jeremiah-(not a voting member) and Morgan-(running
for senate, caught in the tie breaker vote for her!)

Absent: Doddio-Claims to be on finance committee now, Patterson

Agenda:

  1. Safety lighting walk
  2. Future Projects: making campus better

Discussion:

Rode: Expired Elevator in Chaffee,

Pav: 24-hour room printer busted

Rode: Safety lighting walk 26 total people coming as of now including 7 URI officials, want to break into 3groups for smaller numbers done quicker. I got a flyer on how to test a blue light so I’m giving each group leader. Also act professional on the walk because we are representing the student body and we are senators so just remember and BE POSITIVE!!! We need things to talk about with URI officials, like how students can be educated about what to do during a lockdown etc

MacAteer/Underwood: something like that should be mandatory for everyone to go to shouldn’t skip
emergency training

Cody: do it in URI 101

Rode: only freshman take it so it doesn’t reach out to the whole campus

MacAteer: plus engineers don’t take URI 101 either

Pav: is it just making small talk or like things more pertinent?

Rode: pertinent like how it relates to their field and be professional conversations as well. Like our
outdoor display boxes we can talk to lands and ground about that. Definitely splitting into 3 groups. Also
do we want to get food before for everyone like snacks?

Pav: lets wait and see what the weather is so we can get good food

Rode: dress warm, don’t complain, and be professional. Also emergency situation training, maybe
meeting up with someone on the 18th
about it. Also President Dooley’s “run, hide, fight” thing not the
most comforting thing, but how are they going to train students, President Dooley said “we’ll put it on the
website” but not everyone is going to see that.

MacAteer: how about like an online video with a test or something that all students have to take, or else
they could get locked out of their ecampus/sakai, get a hold on their account something like.
