COMMITTEE DISCUSSION:

 

  • Maynard: Supposed to meet with Kathy and Jenna, didn’t happen
  • This Monday at 11pm at Barlow Hall
  • Meet in the Senate office at 10:50 pm
  • At Barlow every Monday, Kathy brings in Fenway and another dog
  • Uy: “Dog With a Blog”
  • Emily: TED Talks: You need a license to do it, maybe next semester  
  • Start with diversity
  • Take it from there

  • SEC: Lobster Bake, Solomon: TALK TO THEM

  • Susan: owns independent film company
  • Latino man shot and killed, people who are white go out looking to beat up “illegals” (or so they think)  
  • Goes to schools and talks to students about this cause
  • Movie deals with teens targeting latinos perceived to be undocumented
  • Launch pad for national discussion on attitudes towards immigration
  • Diversity Week event ???
  • Hasbro
  • Other schools do dance marathons (like relay for life)
  • “For the Kids”, dance a thon
  • Dance for kids and send the money to Hasbro
    • Hasbro employees are required to do a certain number of hours of community service
  • Senate would not be able to give funding for the Hasbro event
  • Relay for Life: March 29th  
  • Open Houses: March 30, April 5 and April 12
