Start a Club

How to start your own student run organization:
NOTE: Steps 3-6 can be done simultaneously 

  1. Gather a minimum of 10 interested undergraduate students.
  2. Meet and hold elections for officers (YOU MUST FOLLOW PROPER ELECTION LAWS! Click on Rules to learn how to hold proper elections)
  3. Fill out the online recognition application.  Application
  4. Fill out the online model constitution.  Model Constitution
  5. The Student Organizations Committee Chair will reach out to potential clubs after they have completed steps 1-4 to schedule a meeting. 
  6. After being recognized, a rhodysenate.org email will be created for your club.
  7. If asked, attend a general Student Senate meeting to be recognized. Meetings are every Wednesday @ 6:30 pm in the Student Senate Chambers, Memorial Union, Room 300.

*The Student Organizations Committee opens a 30-day window every fall and spring semester to accept applications and reviews them on a rolling basis.

*The application period for Fall 2026 will be open from October 1 through October 30, 2026.
