I. Lori Gardener from ProJo
- College readership- last time they were here Spring 2007
- Changes in rate: governing board has relaxed rules of college readership from 12 cents per paper to 1 cent per paper
- Papers in 6 academic buildings and libraries
- ProJo will put white boxes there with signage with encouraging messages and the fact that papers are free
- 35 papers in 7 locations- 235 papers 5 days a week comes out to $12.35 per month
- Also could do Sunday papers(1 cent)
- They have program in every college except RISD and Roger Williams
- To advertise, put an ad in 5 cent cigar, URI tv
- Can cancel contract at any time
- We can skew the number of papers in locations (add/cut back number of papers/locations)
- Bill at the end of every month
- No delivery or installation fee
- ProJo.com is free as of right now
- Maybe we could try this for a semester
- Make sure the papers are in high traffic areas
- Find a better place in FAC
II. Academic
- Dave’s committee will figure out how many papers and where they are going
- Building a website to do self-advising
- Link course requirements
- Advice on double majoring/ minoring
- Compile a big list of scholarships available
- IDEA’s no longer online
- If results not public by the end of the semester Senate will issue a statement urging students not to fill them out
III. SOARC
- President’s meeting went well
- Meetings at 5:30 now
IV. Finance
- Handbook bill on floor
- R’s have to request to get FBP
- Meeting Monday at 8
V. Treasurer
- Some stipends went up
VI. Vice President

- Keep attendance and type of attach minutes
- Due by Friday or if meeting is on Friday, by Monday
- URI TV News and 411 do not want to merge together
- Breast cancer walk is October 25th
- Retreat Sunday September 27th at noon
VII. External
- Coalition meeting October 8th-open panel forum discussion, Dave is moderating, Gabby from MADD
- Speakers are a Narragansett police officer, Tom Doogan, MADD, Amanda. They get 5 minutes each and then questions after
- 6:30-8 on Thursday
- Recycling plan for Narragansett
- Dave has lawsuit binder
VIII. Campus
- Hertz- renting cars on campus to save money
- Waiting on response from other survey monkeys to see if we can do it
- Safety and lighting done this week
- RIPTA signs stolen
- Commuter parking is fine

IX. Elections
- Ad designs done
- We need money for dum dums though we still have stickers
- Sign in sheet for election booth
- Any senators in the office need to go to the booth
- September 30th and October 1st
- On the 22nd having an information booth from 11-4

- Our exec board having a meeting with Dr. Dooley and his 5 “people” on 9/29 from 4-6 p.m. in the Green Hall conference room
