President:

  • Student Handbook:
    • Want to facilitate ideas to change for next year
    • A game plan will be devised and recommendations will be made by next Tuesday
    • See the committee with any recommendations
    • Some changes that people want to see: same gender bathrooms
  • JCAP: Joint Committee on Academic Planning
    • The committee ends in 2015
    • In January there was a faculty summit where they had discussion groups about what they want to see as the academic plan: class schedules, manner of teaching, goals, etc.
    • To create an infrastructure for academic planning
    • In the middle of rewriting the infrastructure
    • Major changes: want to put a big incentive on experiential learning; want to make this worth more credits
    • There will be a student summit in April where faculty will moderate and generate ideas from students
    • Senate participation would be great!
  • Student Advisory Council
    • Work with Provost Dehayes
    • Need more members because participation has decreased
    • The meeting is this Thursday at 5

VP:

  • Commencement applications have been submitted; we have 17
    • Want someone chosen by Annual Meeting
  • Scheduled Welcome Booth Days

SOARC:

  • Will possibly be freezing 25 budgets on Monday
  • President’s Meeting are mandatory and there are many groups that don’t go
    • These are the groups that end up making the most mistakes
    • Will unfreeze the budgets if groups come and appeal

Finance:

  • Budget is all set and the bill will get presented Wednesday
  • Overall great response; there are no unhappy groups!!

Treasurer:

External

  • The guy in the Emporium has decided to put money into the area to make it better
    • Senate has offered to put some money in as well
  • Magnets
    • How to day-party (safely/within the Town Rules)

Academic:

  • Idea to work on facilitating Senate understanding of what goes on during meeting
    • Want to see voting records so we can hold students more accountable
      • Will allow us to look back at student votes
      • Clicker system
    • Shouldn’t cost more than $2000
    • Working with CIO Yip on this

CIO:

  • Get your transition materials in

Cultural:

  • Working on Rhody Paws
    • April 29th is the date with a rain date on the 30th
    • Have a lot of money for advertising
