• Will count as attending Academic Affairs Committee meeting
• Figuring out the 5-year plan
• Talk about: liaisons and availability of liaisons being able to meet with deans; consistent on meetings with liaisons; advising issues should be talked about, if teachers are being advisers they should be better informed because it causes issues; what credits apply to what section and to what major
Academic Colleges Liaisons
• Revamping college liaison templates
• Next week: look at templates and gather ideas
• Liaisons are to work with their college on Funding for academic clubs
• Liaisons have a binder: make them useful
News on External
• A bill that’s going through RI legislation right about public university funding and making it more performance based (number of graduates)
• Problems: what about majors that are five years and come out with two degrees? How are we evaluated? Talk to the provost and maybe the president about this bill to make more sense about it. More news to come.
Liaisons for Faculty Senate Committee
• Oliver will find out when the current term ends and work on a transition for those new representatives and old representatives
Next week
• Liaisons fun packets: Oliver will talk to Amanda about the open faculty committee positions and work on making a list of descriptions for people to fill them out
• At least have each person in Academic be on one of the faculty senate committees
• Template for faculty committee reports: we will work on that
