  • Montecalvo’s report tonight in the Senate chambers will give full description so no rumors will go awry  
    • 3 separate sections
      • 1. Limiting to 4 people per household
        • Specifically targeting students; other criteria such as social host is on renters and landlords
      • 2. Social host law
        • Currently: Every person in house pays $500; Ad-Hoc Committee recommendation: Every tenant under 21 and their parents and landlord will pay the fine
      • 3. Educate students
        • “This is your neighbor campaign”
          • Show that students are being active neighbors, possibly a complaint box for residents
          • Target younger students: freshman and sophomores. Show them how to live off campus; possibly a Spring conference. Tame the upperclassman; improve relations to their neighbors, etc.

  • Committee must compose the bill
    • What we think is good about the changes, what we want changed, and what we don’t like
    • The bill will be on the Senate floor by the Executive committee on 4 November 2015
      • Vote on the bill on 18 November 2015

    • Premature changes without how the new ordinances would work within a given amount of years or time period.
    • Limiting number of students feedback:
      • The limit should not exist
      • There is no gage as to what the special permit use is
    • Social host law
    • Generalization of renters in Narragansett

  • Leases for next year: Possibly Good Neighbor policy will be included
  • No committee meetings on 11 November and 25 November, 2015 due to Veterans Day and Thanksgiving break.
