    1. Who attended: President
    2. Meeting time and place: rm 05 multicultural center Wednesday 7-8 last semester, looking for new location this semester same times.
    3. Members – 17
    4. Elections held to our standards: Yes
    5. Purpose: promote peace and nonviolence on campus.
    6. Goals: have speakers come to group to talk about sexual assault and victims of abuse. Discuss ban of nuclear weapons around the world.  Train all members and other groups in nonviolence, social justice.
    7. Is a part of a national group. Not funded or closely associated with the Center for Nonviolence.
    8. RECOMMENDATION: FUNDED

    5. Purpose: create a blog for fashion
    6. Goals: producing an interesting and fun fashion blog and tie into other majors like Business.
    7. Affiliated with TMD department at the university. Not directly associated with the university
    8. RECOMMENDATION: UNFUNDED

    4. Elections held to our standards: No; president and vice president ran unopposed. Decided to forgo secret ballot.
    5. Purpose: help students interested in climbing to meet like-minded peers and train together.
    6. Goals:
    7. RECOMMENDATION: Hold another meeting and hold secret ballots then.

    • Just changes to the elections section to meet senate requirement for stipended positions.

Stipend Review

 

  • Good 5 Cent Cigar
    • Helps advertise student organizations. Distribute school newspaper across campus.  Outside businesses purchase advertisements.  Important cultural part of the university.
    • Business Manager
      • Hires and schedules advertisement clerks who try to sell advertisements.  Make payment orders and signs stipends.  Orders supplies.

    • Sports Editor
      • Organizes and runs the sports section of the newspaper.  Get press passes for reporters.  Edit stories from reporters and distribute them in the newspaper and social media.

      • 2 people in position.  Develops story list for meetings.  Edit all news stories (largest section of the news paper) and help in sports section if needed.  Keep in contact with reporters and photographers.  Heavy workload.  Write one story a week, contact interviews, news feature/ op-ed writer.

      • Hold entertainment meeting with writers.  Examine previous week.  Assign stories and pictures to reporters and photographers.  Check in with reporters to ensure that the stories are on schedule.  Perform editing duties.  Organize layout of entertainment section of the paper.  Write own story for the paper.

      • Part of the executive committee, discuss bylaws.  Run cultural affairs committee. Liason to different parts of the university, gender and sexuality center, make university more of an inclusive environment.  Runs several programs each year (Rhody paws, Ace of Cakes).  Bring students together around a common cause.  Help create a more cohesive student body.  Ensure that underrepresented students are represented.

      • Creates and maintains minutes of the general senate meetings.  Maintain log of bills for the senate. Fulfills requests for information/ internal memory.       • Director of the RAU2 station.  Online station.  Organizes schedule for the station.  Organize website and organization bios.  Communicates with organizations.  Ensures that groups sign contracts before performing. Ensures that broadcasters are trained.  Maintains keycard list and sign-in sheets.  Too much work to combine with FM director.

      • Create and distribute keycards.  Take and distribute minutes.  Be prepared to take over as general manager is he is unable to fulfill duties.  Attend executive meetings.  Act as institution memory.  Ensure that the DJ’s and performers have parking permits for parking at the Memorial Union.
