*discussing Columbus Day bill
-last general meeting it was discussed that the bill may be too emotionally charged
-looking to reword 6th and 7th “whereas” and add “members of the URI community have expressed a belief that” as opposed to stating that the emotion is a fact
-maybe delete 7th “whereas” as it is seen as just a rewording
-bill as a whole—if it gets passed, could do another poll – “how do you feel about it?” and add a scale 1-5, physical proof for faculty senate
-proposed: tabling bill to put out poll before
-ideally: educational programming informing people why Columbus Day is “bad”
-Nicolette will speak to Riley
