DISCUSSION:

NEASC Standard 4 Review

  • Committee members were assigned pages of the NEASC Standard 4 document and members reviewed the information to make sure it was all accurate.

CIO Taylor presentation

  • What is institutional knowledge and how it is under the CIO’s domain
    • The library has institutional knowledge located on the second floor in special collections area
    • There is information on academic committee as well as the rest of senate which CIO Taylor offers himself to be a resource for access to that institutional knowledge
    • Records go back to 1962 but majority of the files are between 1982-2005
    • Documents given to the library given by past chairpeople and there may be some from past academic chairs

Updates and Miscellaneous information

  • Most of faculty senate liaisons are appointed but there are still a few left
    • Information on subtopic
  • OER
    • What is OER – Open Educational Resources
    • Chairman Temple is meeting at the department chair forum to talk about it
    • What have we done with OER? – The certificate program, highlighting faculty who uses OER
      • Email Chairman Temple if you know of any Professors who uses OER
  • Chairman Temple and Vice-Chair Morabito is meeting with Dean of Library on Tuesday to discuss the move of the Mother’s Room
  • Academic Calendar
    • The poll that was conducted to determine that students want Election day off
    • Chairman Temple is meeting with the Calendar Committee to discuss this
  • Final Exam Rights
    • Chairman Temple is bringing in flyers next week for us to distribute
    • Possibly having coffee and cookies to talk about final exam rights
      • At library on a reading days: April 2nd and 3rd from 10am-12pm
      • Avoid triggering any food allergies
      • Find out where money to fund will come from
  • Possible academic affiliation of clubs bill
    • The bill would define and create another category to be classified under
    • Clubs could not get funded but could get contingencies
