-went over how disability challenge is going with present committee members:

-Alquirtas:

àfirst day of committee, has not been debriefed on the challenge

has braille on all of the room number plaques
has large classrooms
elevators to all floors
*separate handicap entrance to the left of the stone stairs that would be wheelchair accessible
*none of the rooms have lecture hall-style seating where if you were handicapped you would have to sit alone

Alumni Center:

has braille on all of the room number plaques
*none of the rooms have lecture hall-style seating where if you were handicapped you would have to sit alone

-McWeeney (blind):

à*is completing his challenge tomorrow, 12/5 as he has more classes with diverse buildings

Beaupre Chemistry Building:

has braille on all of the room number plaques
although there are bigger lecture rooms, there is not “stadium seating” i.e. all seats are easily accessible
one of the more handicap accessible buildings on campus as it was just opened Fall 2016
main entrance doors on both sides of the building (one facing library and one facing Flagg Rd)

CBLS:

has braille on all of the room number plaques
unique/different set up of building but nothing that’s necessarily “inaccessible”
can enter the large lecture hall but only through an elevator down to the ground floor into the bottom of the “stadium seating” lecture hall
*although there are spots wheelchair accessibility, some seats right next to the handicapped seats are covered with a plastic bag because they are “broken”, haven’t been fixed all semester from what I can tell
