– Chi-Omega issue:
– Specific budget line for SOLC retreats
– Budget for food: if over 3 hours a group gets food
– Received purchase req from Chi-Omega and Senate is paying for the food
– Not Student Senate recognized but past records have shown we’ve paid this in the past
– Finance handbook says we can’t do that; problem solved
– Under SOLC: retreats
Campus:
– Met with Parking and Dining
– Meeting with Services tomorrow
– Complaints about noise from garbage pickup
– Need to deal with broken 5K pillar by Davis Hall
– Safety and Lighting is next week
– 5-6 members of administration will be attending
– Waiting to hear back from more of then
– Trying to set up a meeting with Sears and Baker
– Students are concerned about how easy it is to walk in
– Maybe pay students to serve as “security”

Finance:
– Interviews for IT are on Friday
– Next week there will be many grants on the floor for large amounts of money
– Capital Improvements
– Will need to move money because not much left there
– Will be maybe more than $3000
– Need to meet with Panhel /IFC to get stipends
– We’ll be getting rid of a lot of computers
– SOLC Retreat Issue
– SOLC budget exists within Senate but we want to make them their own account
– They weren’t always under Senate; it’s been back and forth
– They’ve been under Senate for quite a while now
– SOLC Constitution: SOLC offers services to all Senate recognized organization and covers 100% of day retreats and 50% of overnight retreats for Senate recognized groups
– Needs to mention that it’s Funded groups only
– Leadership minor that students take requires them to be a part of SOLC training
– There are two expensive retreats; about $7000 total that these students have to do
– Leadership minors have to take this class
– Center for Student Leadership oversees this minor
– Shouldn’t be requiring students to do these retreats
– We should not be paying for their training
– Or we should only pay for the students not enrolled in the class
– Center for Student Leadership should pay for the students they are forcing to take part in the retreat
– SOLC gets money from Leadership
– Need to look into their budgeting

– Want to fix the section regarding liaisons and Academic College reps
– Want to make a proposal to By-Laws Committee
