President:

• Student Handbook Committee didn’t get to meet, so will hopefully be meeting this week or over Spring Break

 

 

VP:

• Thursday at 7 is the new Senate orientation
• Senior Commencement met today
  • Narrowed candidates down to 6
  • 3 will be chosen on Tuesday and they will read their speech for Senate on Wednesday
• Mentor/Mentee’s being worked on
• Welcome Booth will be 3 Saturdays from Spring Break

 

 

Campus:

• Campus Planning has contacted her regarding working together
• Working on RhodyRama
• Want to do a campus cleanup if weather mermits

 

SOARC:

• Will be freezing the budgets of 23 groups on the Monday after Spring Break
  • Groups will be told this Thursday and can meet with her that Monday
  • These are the same groups that keep missing meetings and the ones that make the most mistakes

 

 

Finance:

• Budgeting is being worked on
  • If IFC/Panhel budgets go, then MUSIC stipends will go
• Need to work on Senate positions/stipends

 

 

Treasurer:

External

• No report

 

 

Academic:

• Dealing with make up days/snow days regarding faculty
• Might be having some issues with the Academic Standards and Calendar Committee
  • Want to implement many changes such as withdrawal/cancellation procedures
• Some models emerging for Academic Model
  • Major obstacle is faculty agreement on advisement
  • Need to decide if we are behind and if so we need to help promote it
  • Will not be addressed until next semester
• Working on future Reading Days
• Still waiting to hear back from CELs regarding financing
• Has lost contact with Health and Services because of lack of contact from our liaison

 

CIO:

• Writing a bill with Zawatsky and Lauren regarding liaisons.
  • Has looked at other schools to see how committees are organized
    • Every school has a marketing committee
  • Bill will create a pseudo-marketing committee
    • Will make it so the first thing a DOM does is work on the strategic marketing plan and follow the plan
    • DOM will be a non-voting member of the committee
    • Will work with a sister committee: Fall Senate Recruitment
  • Discussion on bill…modifications needed
    • Need to work on how to deal with unacceptable appointees
    • Idea to make DOM a marketing position

 

Cultural:

• Working on Rhody Paws
• Spoke with Melvin last week who brought up IFC/Panhel
• Working with DIVE
• Oozeball is having its 25^th anniversary so want to do something w/them and co-sponsor
