Aquarium Club

They want money for equipment to run aquariums (tanks, filters, salt etc) They don’t know how much space or operational costs they are going to need for the future. They will have East Farm. The fisheries plan on fixing up some of the electrical stuff for the Farm room. They took over the tank in CBLS.

They plan on having large tanks that look like 5 gallon buckets. They hope to have a few extra parts and pieces to keep on had.

 

Scuba

They want to go to the scuba convention beneath the sea. It is a seminar on dive safety, marine careers etc. They have a very active year with a lot of participation from new members. They are requesting money for lodging in New Jersey. They have been the hotel before so it is nice, the staff is great.

WRIU

The URI basketball team MIGHT go to the NCAA tournament and WRIU is asking for 900. Until selection Sunday, they don’t know what region they are going to be in. There are a lot of moving parts to this bill as they don’t know if they will be able to go. They want the money ahead of time. 750$ for NCAA Tournament

DIVE RI. Finance chairman of DIVE RI. They need lighting for the ballroom. Same lighting as last year. Jamile Hill is keynote speaker. 250-300 URI students. Lighting provides more professionalism. granted 900.

SAWA

This year they want to bring in African Artists. They are asking for a $10,000 loan from the student senate. April 1st. This event is requesting mista yeezy. Senate doesn’t think they can help give the 10K loan for the performer. But senate thinks they can give money for the host. Keep ticket sales maybe 10. Instead of bringing a new performer SAWA planned for a host to come to the event for $4000. This host is a comedian as well and will help with transitions between acts. Motion to grant SAWA $1000 for the host.
