COMMITTEE DISCUSSION:

  1. Rhody Archery
    1. Who attended: President
    2. Meeting time and place: Mondays 7pm, currently in one of the Eddie suites.
    3. Members – 20
    4. Elections held to our standards: Yes
    5. Purpose: To teach students the art of archery and allow them to participate in an inclusive group.
    6. Goals: safe archery, foam archery, move up to regional archery competition.
    7. RECOMMENDATION: FUNDED
      1. Vote ( 8 – 0 – 1 )
      2. Need to attend senate meeting on ___November 2, 2016_______

 

  1. URI Hydrobotics
    1. Who attended: President
    2. Meeting time and place: Bay Campus in unused classroom, 6:30 Wednesday.
    3. Members – 20
    4. Elections held to our standards: No, the executive board was appointed by the professor.
    5. Purpose: Develop a remote operated in the annual MATE ROV competition. To enhance the knowledge of marine robotics at the University of Rhode Island.
    6. Goals:
    7. RECOMMENDATION: Conduct elections according to Student Senate standards. Allow the professor to make non-binding recommendations during the election process.
    8. Funding status: Group originally applied as an academic group. Works closely with the ocean engineering department.  Committee tentatively suggests that the group be recognized as an unfunded group when they come back.  Group wants funding status for MATE competition in California.

 

  1. Theme Park Engineering and Design
    1. Who attended: President
    2. Meeting time and place: Wednesday 6, International Engineering House
    3. Members – 19 (and one graduate student)
    4. Elections held to our standards: Yes
    5. Purpose: Provide a way for students attempting to get into the amusement park industry to connect with each other. Help other students learn the design programs.
    6. Goals: Two competitions: Disney Imaginations, Cornell. Go to IAAPA (industry expo).
    7. RECOMMENDATION: FUNDED
      1. Vote ( 9 – 0 – 0 )
      2. Need to attend senate meeting on _November 2, 2016________
