Discussion:

Neuroscience club

  • Goal: Get more people in neuroscience together and speak about topics that are relevant. ALso start outreach with the ryan institute for the university and local high schools. Networking between faculty and students. Have previously had graduate students speak to the group.
  • Reasons: Ability to spread the word about the club and have access to meeting locations
  • Set up meeting time for next semester
  • Members: 20

Caritas Smile

  • Goal: Help women and children in the caribbean via clothing, sanitary supplies, and school supplies. Bins will be placed in common areas around campus for collecting supplies. Looking to recruit volunteers for collecting and sending donations.

Amnesty International

  • Goal: Affiliated with amnesty international. Not a humanitarian organization or partisan organization. Focus on various legal actions internationally. Does not gather money to give out.
  • Meetings: Monday at 4:30 Lipit 302
  • Elections: Faculty supervised
  • Members: 12 members, 1 faculty advisor
  • Recommendation: (4-0-0)

Comedy Club:

  • Seeking recognition. Brand new.
  • Goal: Focusing on sketch and stand up comedy. Put on stand-up shows at various venues independently and in conjunction with other organizations. Recognition would allow them access to large rooms for meetings.

  • Elections: not held yet

  • Recommendation: need to elect an E-Board before recommendation
