      • No real meetings yet
      • 10 members
      • Elections were held to standards
      • Purpose: to prepare students looking to go into medical careers
      • Goals: provide MCAT preparation as well as set up internships and bring speakers to campus, contact hospitals to create shadowing and internship opportunities
      • Other notes: made up of primarily younger undergrads so the group can continue to grow and not dissolve after seniors graduate
      • Recommendation: Unfunded Organization

  • URI Persian Student Association

 

      • Four student representatives came
      • Haven’t been able to establish a set meeting time yet because of the inclement weather
      • 14 undergrad member and 7 graduate members.
        • still recruiting
      • Elections were not held to standards
      • Purpose: cultural organization hoping to represent the large Persian population on campus.
      • Goals: Hope to educate the campus about Persian culture. Currently working on a documentary screening as a programming. Looking to hold programs for Persian holidays.
      • Recommendation: Funded Organization

  • Volunteers Around the World

 

    • Two student representatives came
    • Part of a larger organization. The umbrella organization just coordinates locations to go to. They receive no outside funding from the umbrella organization.
    • 23 members.
    • Elections were held to standards
    • Purpose: to enhance community infrastructure through improved education and access to more advance medical treatment with a student run clinic
    • Goals: Send students around the world to set up medical clinics
    • Recommendation: Unfunded Organization
      • vote: 8-0-0

  • Actively Moving Forward
    • President came as representative
    • Part of a larger organization  they receive funding from
    • 10 members
    • Elections were held to standards
      • only have a treasurer and president
    • Purpose: support group for struggling students as well as perform community service
    • Recommendation: Unfunded Organization
      • vote: 8-0-0
      • need to attend meeting on: March 4th
