Institution for Healthcare Improvement

• Meetings: They currently only have 1 meeting a month, however they will now hold two meetings a month
• Members – 32 to 35 at URI
• Elections held to our standards
• In college of Pharmacy – they want to improve patient safety. They are reaching out to students in colleges other than Pharmacy
• All students welcome
• They work with medical students from Brown Medical School

Student Advocates for Education

• President
• Meetings: Wednesday MCC 203 at 6pm
• Members – 15
• Elections held to our standards
• Purpose – for help education majors and people interested in teaching. They want to bring in different teachers, professors, and community members. They participated in Make A Reach Foundation (charity) – make holiday card and for each card a dollar went to Make-A-Wish.

• RECOMMENDATION: UNFUNDED
• Reason for unfunded, do not currently demonstrate a need for funding
• Vote: ( 7 – 0 – 0 )

 

 

Young Americans for Freedom

• President
• Meetings: Sunday at 5 pm room TBD
• Members – 15
• Elections held to our standards
• Purpose – make students more knowledgeable about conservative views. Focus on being conservative NOT republican. Anyone can join.
• Goals: bring a speaker, bring Alan West for Black History Month (possibly delayed)
• Warnings: do not endorse specific political candidates
