Biography
Dr. Cindie Cruger came to URI in 2016 after seven years working at a small private college in New York City, both in financial aid and academic advising. She provides leadership, expertise, and evaluation of undergraduate academic advising activities in a mixed-advising model that includes professional and faculty advisors across the university. Her research focuses on job-related tension and workplace well-being among academic support staff.
She was awarded the Region 1 Advising Administrator’s scholarship from the National Association of Academic Advisors in January 2022, and the CHS Staff Excellence Award in December 2022. She serves as a mentor for NACADA’s Advisor Training and Development Knowledge Community, and as the Co-Chair for the Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA) Excellence Awards Committee.
