Charles-Antoine Guérin is a professor at the University of Toulon, France, where he leads an ocean radar remote sensing group as part of the Mediterranean Institute of Oceanography (MIO), a french research laboratory involved in ocean engineering and oceanographic research.

Professor Guérin holds a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the University of Aix-Marseille and a Master of Science degree from the National School of Space and Aeronautic Engineering in Toulouse. He currently serves as the MIO’s vice-director and is a renowned expert in the modeling of ocean radar remote sensing. For the past 15 years, Professor Guérin has been developing tractable and realistic models for both the description of the sea surface and its interaction with electromagnetic waves.
