The University plans a Fall Commencement ceremony in December and a Spring Commencement Weekend in May.

President’s House Events

President Parlange hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including large celebrations on the house lawn and small formal dinners inside.

Presidential Events and Meetings

University Events manages Presidential events on campus, including new building ribbon cuttings, the State of the University Address, URI Day at the Statehouse and Board of Trustee Meetings and Retreats.

Quad Events

University Events oversees two celebrations on the Quad Annually: The Last Day of Classes Event, held in spring, and QuadFest, held in fall.

Lifetime Service Society

Each year, the University honors its retiring staff and faculty members who have been employed at the University for 40 years or more during a ceremony held in December.

Presidential Athletic Suite

The President hosts a variety of groups in the suite at the Ryan Center to cheer on URI Men’s and Women’s Basketball, as well as Football.
