Resources available for mentors

mentor2-1Program staff are available as a resource to both students and mentors. Through the Coastal and Environmental Fellows Program, we can offer assistance in recruiting and identifying students for your specific project needs. In addition, the Coastal and Environmental Fellows Program acts as a promotional tool for the research and outreach activities taking place within the university and the community. For students, we offer assistance in skill development and resume construction, as well as providing guidance and information about future opportunities.

The Coastal and Environmental Fellows Program receives limited funding for the direct support of student fellowships. Currently, this funding derives from the Rhode Island Agricultural Experiment Station, Rhode Island Cooperative Extension, and Rhode Island Sea Grant, and certain grant funds. Fellows working outside the Land Grant, Sea Grant framework are often supported directly through research grants or other mechanisms.
