Dr. Audette is an active member of the APTA (Vice Chair, Global Health SIG) and Health Volunteers Overseas (Chair, PT Programs Steering Committee). She initiated the Broadening Experience here at URI, which allows students to broaden their view of the profession of physical therapy locally, nationally and internationally through two-week non-clinical experiences. Every year as part of this program she travels with students to the highlands of Guatemala to work at a center for children with disabilities. She spent the summer of 2013 taking intensive Spanish lessons in Guatemala. She has done physical therapy related work in China, Haiti, Suriname, and Guatemala. Dr. Audette has been on the faculty since 2003.
Physical therapy faculty practice, international experiences for students, international and global health issues and how they can be integrated into teaching, and physical therapist education.
