COMMITTEE DISCUSSION:

1. Slam Poetry
a. Rep: Malcom = next year’s VP
b. Bringing Robbie Q Telfer to perform
• Learned about him when the group went to UConn
• Charismatic, energetic
• Total fee for Robbie is: $2,000
• The rest of the cost will go to the group’s 900 line
c. Host a writing workshop before the slam event
• Helps build writing foundation

• Second Event: 120 attendees
g. Advertising
• Will use the rest of the fundraising funds to advertise

2. Dressage – Nationals
a. One qualified attendee

b. Hotel is right near the airport
c. Costs:
• Airplane: $320
• Hotel: $120
1. 1 Night if they can leave by Saturday Night
• iii. Conference Registration: $125
• iv. Rental Car – Parent of the student is planning to attend and drive to ameliorate the costs of the rental car
• v. Coaching Fee – $350 as per $350
d. Loan
• The budget was given for Things at the beginning of the year
• Treat this grant as if the loan was not in contention
• Their responsibility for paying off the loan is unaffected by travel grants
e. Competitive top competitions
• Normally we have a problem with this for any sports group as the funds are not normally budgeted.

• Biggest Event – Native American Culture Event
• Show the culture and bring events to campus

• vii. Prizes for the Dances are not coming from Senate
1. They will be coming from the Tribe

• MC – $250
• Head Dancers – 2 at $250 each = $500
• Program Director – $250
• Tent & Sound System – $1190 from ATR Treehouse
• Portable Toilets – 4 at $40 each = $160
• Tent – $3536.35
• Total: $5887

• NASO has had the pow wow but since it is outdoor, it does need

• There are Pow Wows every weekend
h. Audience of 300 – 400 in and out
• 4 Portable toilets will need to be checked to find better pricing
• Greek Week got 15 Portable toilets for $34/each from United Site Services
j. Also asking money from the Diversity Fund & CED to cover costs
• If CED or Diversity provide costs for other things before the grant is approved, we can easily reduce the grant on the floor

4. Musician’s Guild
a. Capital Improvements which also benefit the rest of the campus
b. Things Needed
• 5 – 20ft XLR Cables
• 1 – 25ft 8 channel XLR Snake
1. 8 channel because that’s the best deal
c. These items are used by the group and also rented out to other groups
d. They also allow the setup to be further from the stage
e. Care for the Cables
• People that are experienced in the field have worked with the cables
• Kept in bags
f. Maintenance – 2 cables break per year
• MG has 12 cables
g. 169.98 for all the equipment
