Biography

As an environmental anthropologist, Dr. Moore (she/her/hers) has many years of research experience in the Caribbean working with and within Afro-Caribbean populations, examining the social and material effects of ecological research and conservation efforts in the context of neocolonial tourism and global change science. As an academic, she works with the frames of Black ecologies, Black feminism, and feminist science and technology studies to center marginalized and racialized voices and experiences as expertise to move beyond white supremacist knowledge production and dominant ways of knowing and being in the world.  She currently teaches MAF 300: Race, Gender, Colonialism, and Science (cross listed with AAF) for URI undergraduates.
