Cruz Caridad Bueno

Biography

Cruz Caridad Bueno is an economist specializing in economic development, gender violence, and the political economy of race, gender, and class. She earned her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. She is recipient of the Rhonda Williams Prize from the International Association for Feminist economics for her research on low-income black women workers—work funded by the Inter American Foundation’s Grassroots Development Fellowship—in the Dominican Republic. Her work has been published in the Review of Black Political Economy, Feminist Economics, and Violence Against Women. She enjoys traveling, reading, writing, yoga, dancing, karaoke, playing, and long leisurely lunches.
