Biography

Dr. Clarisa E. Carubin holds a Ph.D. in Arts and Design from the University of Barcelona, Spain. Her dissertation, “Motion graphics, an emerging discipline of design seen through the analysis of its curricula in higher education in the United States”, examines and compares concepts and vocabulary of motion graphics used by authors of this area and analyzes and compares the curriculum of motion graphics university programs in the U.S. with the intention of identifying its structure and organization.

Dr. Carubin has taught at the University level in the areas of Art and Graphic Design
in Argentina, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, and she is currently a full-time
faculty at the University of Rhode Island (URI).

Dr. Carubin teaches in the studio format the following courses: Graphic Design I
and II, Graphic Design Theory and Application, User Interface Design, Typography,
Digital Imaging, Web Design, and Graphic Design Portfolio, Motion Graphic Design,
Data Visualization and Infographic Design, Publication, and Illustration.

Dr. Carubin is a Course and Curriculum Developer in Graphic Design; during the
years 2011 to 2013 she held this position within the higher education system of
the United Arab Emirates.

Dr. Carubin is a graphic design professional and with her own company provides
premium graphic design services for many companies worldwide and has been in
the graphic design business for many years.
