Proposal Submission Rubric

Each proposal is blind-reviewed by a selection committee using this scoring rubric. Unfortunately, not all submitted proposals will be invited to participate in the conference. Abstracts of accepted proposals will appear in the virtual conference program. 

Scoring Range: 

  • 0 = criteria is not apparent or does not exist
  • 1 = some evidence provided to support criteria
  • 2 = meets criteria
  • 3 = exceeds criteria

The proposal communicates the nature of the innovation in alignment with one of the conference’s tracks.

Proposal highlights at least one innovative area, examples include but are not limited to:

  • instructional technique
  • application of theory
  • practice
  • process

Applicability:

The proposal highlights best practices and/or effective methods for promoting engagement and success within a higher education setting.

Proposal focus is on at least one way to promote student learning and success, or faculty success within a higher education.

1 x __ = 

Abstract:

The proposal abstract, which will be in the conference program and on the conference website, clearly describes the main points of the session and the intended audience, and is free from grammatical, punctuation, spelling, and formatting errors. 

Abstract summary includes: 

  • the topic and main points of the presentation are highlighted.
  • intended audience is noted.
  • proposal is error-free and publication worthy.

Description of Session:

The description of the session is clear and concise, and presents sufficient detail about the intended audience, topic/compelling problem, background information, and choice of research/practice-based approach. The description highlights findings, conclusions, and/or recommendations.
