Welcome to the Brain Health Equity and Access to Clinical Neuropsychology Lab (BEACON) Lab at the University of Rhode Island (URI).
Mission Statement
To conduct research and engage in community outreach that results in real-world impact and improves and enhances brain health for all.
Guiding Principles and Areas of Focus
We aim to develop, pilot, and disseminate scalable and innovative assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation approaches and care delivery models. We seek to address social determinants of health such as by improving brain health literacy as well as improving access to neuropsychological care by leveraging telehealth.
Our work primarily focuses on youth and young adult brain health. Our work primarily focuses on concussion/mild traumatic brain injury, neurodevelopmental conditions, chronic illness, and physical disability.
