Use the URI Research Foundation’s database to search for technologies currently available for licensing.

IP Disclosure and Protection

The URI Research Foundation is responsible for the management of the University’s intellectual property, and for commercialization of the results of University research.

Opportunities for Funding

There are several opportunities throughout the state for URI faculty, staff and students to obtain funding for research and development, and to help move their ideas forward.  This includes:

• Innovation Vouchers through Commerce RI:  Allows businesses to unlock R&D capacity in Rhode Island
• SBIR/STTR:  Expands opportunities in the federal innovation research and development arena
• RI Business Competition:  Established in 2000, the Competition is the leading community-supported business competition in the Northeast.
