Internships For Credit

Regardless of your year and major, an internship is an amazing opportunity to gain relevant experience, apply theory to practice in the field, and make valuable networking connections.

If you are a URI undergraduate student with 60 or more credits and a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA, you may be eligible to earn 6-15 credits through the ITR Internship Program.

Interested in the ITR Internship program? Follow these steps:

  • Attend an ITR Internship Info Session – Weekdays 11am & 2pm, Roosevelt Hall South Lobby
  • Complete the ITR Program Application
  • Once you’ve attended an information session and have found an internship, please complete the Secured an Internship Form. Please allow 2 business days to allow the form to be processed.

Search below for your major to discover options for gaining internship experience in your field. URI recognizes the importance of gaining experience in your field before graduation and therefore, encourages you to gain experience while earning academic credit. Options for academic credit include: (1) earning credit in your major; (2) earning credit in open electives; and (3) non-credit. For more information on these options, click on your major below.
