Amanda Forget-She/Her

Biography

Rhode Island native Amanda Forget has spent the last 6 years after her career amplifying AmeriCorps service and promoting volunteerism throughout Rhode Island at ServeRI. Prior to her role at the Rhode Island State Commission, Amanda served as an AmeriCorps member for three terms of service in Manchester, New Hampshire where she found the desire to bring service opportunities to more people and more organizations in her home state. Amanda’s first volunteer experience stemmed from high school, but it wasn’t until her college work-study job in the Community Service Office that had her questioning her career path. As a student with a desire to learn through hands-on experiences, her community service work ultimately lead her to a career in volunteerism but taught her so much more than just that. In her spare time outside of her work with AmeriCorps, Amanda can be found teaching dance and serving as board secretary for Woonsocket Adopt A Family. As a current student at Rhode Island College, Amanda continues to pursue her own education and advocates for those, like her, who needed a different approach to an educational experience along the way.
