Career Journey

Much of my time at URI was spent completing four internships and exploring what I did not want to do in my future career. Ultimately, I discovered that my passion was in Higher Education and assisting others in pursuing their career goals. After receiving my master’s degree, I worked at Roger Williams University where I taught career development courses and held one-on-one meetings to support students directly in achieving their professional aspirations. In 2018, I transitioned to URI as the Experiential Education Coordinator where I serve as the liaison between the College of Health Sciences and the Center for Career & Experiential Education (CCEE). Here, I work to bridge industry and academia by supporting employers and faculty in creating career development initiatives that enhance the skills employers are seeking in graduates today. I also teach career courses through CCEE and serve as a part-time faculty member in the departments of Psychology and Human Development & Family Science.

When not supporting career and experiential education at URI, you will find me: traveling with my husband or spending time with our cat, Callie.

What Strength, Value, or Personality trait do you identify with most and why? I identify most with my “Achiever” strength as it propels me to continuously taking on new challenges that allow me to grow personally and professionally.
