Career Journey: Truthfully, I never imagined I would have a career in higher education. I’ve tried a little bit of everything—from volunteering as a farmhand, to tagging horseshoe crabs for data collection, to managing a business’s social media—I was always trying new things in hopes of figuring out what I enjoy doing. When my love of photography led me to pursue an undergraduate degree, I found myself surrounded by an incredible support system of advisors and professors who wanted to see me succeed. I went from struggling through the educational system to thriving, ultimately graduating with highest honors. Experiencing the ways in which staff and faculty helped lay the groundwork for my academic success gave me an appreciation for higher education. My artistic background has given me the perspective to view both life and work through a creative lens. Even though my role here at URI has little to do with my degree, I always use my creativity to come up with solutions to best support CCEE and the Pre-Health Program!

When not supporting career and experiential education at URI, you will find me… Hanging out with my partner, snapping photos with my film cameras, digging through the $1 bins at my local record store, getting destroyed by my friends in Mario Party, foraging for wild mushrooms (when they’re in season), or tending to my ever-growing collection of houseplants.

What strength, value, or personality trait do I identify with most? I most identify with curiosity! It’s a guiding principle in my life both as an artist and a professional. I’m always eager to learn, explore new ideas, and expand my understanding. This role is a perfect fit because its ever-evolving nature allows me to continuously develop new skills and think creatively to find ways to more effectively support CCEE and the Pre-Health program. I approach every challenge with an open mind and a genuine sense of curiosity.
