The URI Criminology and Criminal Justice department is committed to individual, personalized mentoring with each of our majors and with any students considering becoming a major.
Faculty members are available before or after class and during office hours, or even for an impromptu meeting while passing in the hallways. However, we urge our students to make time to see their academic advisors on a regular basis. We believe regular contact between students and their academic advisor adds to their advisor’s personal knowledge of the student’s interests, which can make a student’s time at URI more rewarding by, for example identifying opportunities for a minor or even a double major.
Various forms, including those for off-campus study and courses taken at other institutions, change of major, intent to graduate, among others, can be found on the College of Arts and Sciences site.
