Welcome to the Chang Coastal Lab!
We are a research group in the Department of Ocean Engineering at the University of Rhode Island. Our work focuses on coastal hydrodynamics and the underlying physical processes that drive interactions among waves, currents, sediments, and natural infrastructure in nearshore environments.
Combining hands-on laboratory flume experiments, numerical modeling, and field observations, we aim to deepen our understanding of coastal processes and provide science-based insights that support sustainable shoreline management and long-term resilience.
👉 Explore our research, meet the team, and see how we’re working to support resilient and sustainable coastlines.
