URI Chinese Culture Club Lunar New Year Celebration – Saturday, Feb 2, 2019

Chinese New Year, also called Spring Festival, has more than 4,000 years of history. It is the grandest and the most important of all Chinese holidays for Chinese people in China and around the world. The URI Chinese Culture Club will hold its annual new year celebration at Laurel Lane Country Club at 309 Laurel Ln, West Kingston, RI on Saturday, Feb 2, 2019. It is a very nice event venue, proving food, cash bar, as well as a nice environment for celebrating this traditional holiday.

With the generous sponsorship from Dr. Ken Yang, we are able to significantly reduce the per-person cost to the following:

  • 3 years old and under: Free
  • 4-9 years old: $5
  • 10-69 years old: $15
  • 70 years old and above: Free

We do have a headcount limit for the event and will need your cooperation to register via the following form before January 10. This invitation initially reaches active CCC members, new URI faculty and staff members, and CCC Chinese language program teachers and students. If we still have space left, we will extend the invitation to the broader URI community.

Note: registration for the event is closed. If you have any questions about the event, please contact Dr. Yan Sun at yansun@uri.edu.
