College Internship Opportunities

Before you apply, please read this important information:

  • Students selected for an internship will receive a $5000 stipend paid in two installments: one at the beginning of June and the other at the beginning of July, pending timely completion of onboarding requirements and paperwork.
    • Stipends may be considered taxable income.
    • International students may be required to complete additional steps and experience slightly longer processing timelines.
  • Internships will run from May 18 to July 24, 2026.
  • Students should expect to be engaged with their internship for 30-32 hours per week.

The deadline to apply is March 25, 2026. Please plan to submit an application, unofficial transcript, and a personal statement (500 words max) explaining your interest in the internship and how it relates to your professional and/or academic goals.

Eligible students may apply to any of the following internships:

The Gallogly-Burt Student Internship Fund

Students will participate in internships or experiential learning opportunities in the fields of mental health or social services, including but not limited to counseling, psychology, or community-based support. 

Dr. Mark P. Babich Memorial Student Internship Fund

Students with a demonstrated interest in pursuing graduate studies in Psychology will participate in an internship or experiential learning opportunity in the Psychology department.

Dr. Jeffrey Ross and Jennifer Ross Internship Fund 

Students who are pursuing advanced training in the healthcare field will participate in experiential learning with CHS partner organizations.

The Martin Henry Fund

Students with an interest in child health or health system improvement will participate in an internship or experiential learning opportunity.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) Internship Fund

Students will participate in an internship with OLLI at URI.

Nancie Herbold Nutrition Department Fund

This opportunity is open to undergraduate Nutrition majors seeking a dietetic internship and master’s students in Nutrition programs. Students will participate in an internship or experiential learning opportunity.
