Biography

As a pharmacoepidemiologist, my research has focused on improving the safety of medications in vulnerable populations, particularly older adults. Throughout my career, I have conducted research to identify and find novel solutions for increasing the safety of medications post-marketing. While my research experience and interests include medication use in older adults, with a focus on medication safety, my classical methodological training in epidemiology applies broadly to other research questions.

Prior to coming to URI, I developed extensive managerial and project oversight experience in the private sector performing numerous studies seeking to improve the quality of prescribing in primary care settings. In addition to primary data sources, I have worked extensively with large administrative datasets (e.g. the SAGE database, the Medstat Marketscan™ database and the National VA database) and patient registries to perform pharmacoepidemiological studies.
