Cindie Cruger came to URI in 2016 after seven years working at a small private college in New York City, both in financial aid and academic advising. She leads student affairs and student services in Health Sciences. Her research interests include academic advisor well-being, and data modeling for proactive advising while managing large caseloads. She was awarded the Region 1 Advising Administrator’s scholarship from the National Association of Academic Advisors in January 2022, and the CHS Staff Excellence Award in December 2022. She serves as a mentor for NACADA’s Advisor Training and Development Knowledge Community, and as the Chair for the Advising and Career Category of the Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA) Awards Committee.
